Pros:
Runs great, looks good, handles well, dependable. Only in the shop for 2 days in nearly 8 years, engine computer/wiring repair.
Cons:
Not good in snow or ice, light & sporty make it slide. The electrical system had some issues. In brutal cold, it can be tough to start. Air/fuel mixture doesn't adjust well to -10 or -20 air temps.
Review:
Bought the car for my wife in April 2001. Made sure to get the SE 2.0, better engine, suspension, upgraded throughout...thought the 1.8 was cheaply built. We bought the car with 6 mles on it, mainly from our test drive. Now it has 172,000 miles, no rust runs great and is getting 29 mpg STILL. Only big trouble was a wiring/engine computer replacement at 135,000. The original tires were garbage... but changed them out at 50,000 miles. Otherwise just brakes/tires/oil at proper intervals. Paid $12,600, 7.5 years ago, been paid off for almost 4 years. Don't have any reason to let it go yet!

I have a Nissan Sentra that even the Nissan dealer's service dept. can not figure out what is the problem.

Pros:
Good on gas mileage.
Cons:
Sensor Failures too many times, loss in motor power, motor mounts , car shutting down while driving as you come to a stop (scary)
Review:
I have had my car for over 5yrs now. This car has had a lot of sensor problems and a lot of recalls as well. Sensors for this car can become expensive.I thought this would be a reliable vehicle and low in maintenance .NOOOOOOOOO I am very unsatisfied .

Pros:
Dependable, great mileage, handles the road like a bouncer handling a drunk and still sounds like it did new
Cons:
The wear and tear show but don't tell, could get up and go a little better but it is 15 years old, the seats have lost their cushiness (and I suspect this was a department in which Nissan could have used a few pointers in this model and year) and rust sucks.
Review:
Granted, my Sentra is almost half my age and the seats need more cush and the appearance needs help (ie: rust) this little beastie is a good runner and is dependable as they come. No problems with it thus far except a couple of under carriage clearance issues. Starts on the first try, runs like a raped ape and I love it.

Pros:
Mileage, cheap
Cons:
Not reliable, worth avoiding
Review:
While i got reasonable gas mileage from this car, it was at the cost of multiple repairs. Sensors falling off, the windows mechanism jamming (wires fray and whole unit needs replacing), the ECM kept going down resulting in all kinds of errors codes highlighted when the check engine light came on. The car wouldnt keep alignment, the radiator cracked and the transmission was on the way out when i finally traded it in and was lucky to get anything for it earlier this year. Its been the most expensive car to run to date, with 106k miles (80% highway) on it after 5 years, i would not have expected half of these troubles given the Nissan "reputation" for reliability.

Sentra SE, a nice performer!

Pros:
Dash console, center console, dual digital odometer, smooth ride, great gas mileage, engine purrs like a kitten.
Cons:
None to me
Review:
This was the top of the line Sentra in 2001 and it held that type of price tag as well. I enjoy the responsiveness of this vehicle, however the engine is noisy at higher RPMs. Overall, a nice car but save your dough and just buy the 1.8 liter model, especially with today's gas prices. Best MPG to date is 28 MPG. Cannot keep tires from wearing on the outer edge on the front end. Had recall performed, 3 different sets of tires and new rotors, still shimmies at high speeds.

Edit 8/05/06
Even though this is the "base model", it is much more refined than it's predecessors. I like the dual digital odometer, the interior space, and the top of dash console. This is definitely a WINNER from Nissan. I bought this vehicle used in April 2005 with 45Kmi on it. It has given me no problems whatsoever as of yet (08/2006)

Pros:
Low initial cost. Decent features.
Cons:
Expensive to keep up. Must deal with Nissan's non-existent customer service.
Review:
This vehicle will cost you a fortune to keep up. I've had to replace both front window regulators and the wiring in the steering console, none of which was cheap and all on a car with less than 75K mileage ($1000+). Also the cruise control has never worked properly since the day it was new. Nissan Customer Service is useless and basically takes you for an idiot.
