Pros:
Low overall cost to maintain and operate. Decent handling, decent power. Softer sprung GLE is nice on less than perfect roads.

Cons:
Gas mileage never good. Low 20's overall, but will do 25-26 highway. (automatic trans) Dramatically better mileage with premium
fuel.

Review:
I purchased my 2001 GLE new and have 103k miles on it. Problems have been a faulty power window control unit ( replaced with
discounted factory part purchased online). A bad front wheel bearing ( costly repair, bearing pressed in). I've had to have the
rear ( drum) brake wheel cylinders replaced twice. I never could understand why Nissan put rear drums on their top trim level
GLE?

Pros:
Nice looking car, great engine/speed. Fun to drive. Everything is perfect about the car. Mpgs considering the usual driving speed @80 mph.

Review:
Nissan altimas are the best out there. I love the engine, i mean it is
amazing that such a little engine KA24DE is able to pull out 125 mph. Great
performance, great handling. I would defenetly buy another altima in the
future.

Review:
I have owned this vehicle for 2 years. I have issues with the idle
running high. Had the intake gaskets replaced, and it still does it. Took
it to the dealership and it said that the computer is sending the wrong
codes and would need a new computer. But couldn't guarantee it would fix the
issue. The other issue is when the car turns off 90% of the time the fan
starts up and runs for a minute or 2. Very stupid. I can't get more than 3
people in my car now or else the wheels hit the wheel well. Looks like new
suspension is next!

Costly engine repairs. Most frequently no mechanic will find out what the hell the problem is.

Review:
2001 Altima - 4 cyl. Bought it with 25K miles. Not even a year later the
intake manifold gasket goes ($400) and I found out this is the #1 issues
reported with the car. Then 3 years later the valve cover gasket is leaking
like hell. What's worse now is that ALL the instruments on the dashboard go
off while driving, power windows don't work and the car goes all the way to
first gear and the engine looses all the power. Then after 5-10 min
everything goes back to normal. I found out this was the #2 most frequent
reported issue. This car is crap - I will NEVER buy
Nissan again.

Pros:
Good on gas, good looking; car ages well as long as you take care of it.

Clear coat on aluminum wheels is chipping, power window regulators break, a/c condenser burnt out.

Review:
I am really happy with the overall quality of the car. Bought it used in
2004 with 28,000 miles and is still going strong at 71,000. I would buy
another Altima in a minute. I just replaced the original battery last month.
The only issue I have had with this car would be the power window motors. I
have had to replace two of them so far. There is no warning, the window goes
down you hear a loud clunk and the window does not come back up. I do have
the extended warranty for 100,000 miles. If I had to actually pay for any of
these repairs I probably wouldn't be as happy as I am with this car.
