Pros:

Comfortable, smooth ride.  Roomy.  Stereo sound. Heated seats

Cons:

Expensive repairs.  Truly a lemon model year.

Review:

I fell in love with the Murano when I first saw it and purchased one.  Very first road trip the transmission started having problems - wouldn't accelerate or would get stuck in a low gear not allowing travel over 30 mph on the highway.  The 500 mile trip home was horrible.  We kept having to pull over, shut the car off, and wait 10 minutes for the computer to reset itself.  It took 3 trips into the dealer before they finally said it needed a new transmission at 49,000.  The radiator has cracked and been replaced twice - $1,100 each.  The xenon headlight went out.  Took three days for Nissan to get one in because "we don't stock them because they never go out."  Transfer case went out Saturday at 75,000. $4,000 repair.  I've turned it in to the regional specialist.

Pros:

The car feels solid and strong body wise, it handles well.

Cons:

.....PREMATURE TRANSMISSION FAILURE.....
Windows are too small in the back.
Strange airflow (wobble?) with front windows open.
Air conditioning is not strong enough.

Review:

I see other report of bad transmission. Our transmission stopped working at 88,000 miles. We paid $5000.00 also to get it replaced.

Also the cd player has been repaired/replaced.

Pros:

Looks great, drives great, very comfortable.

Cons:

High repairs.  No help on the bugs of the first Murano

Review:

Love my 2003 Murano.  Went through many problems with door and window noises.  Kept it anyway because I love how it drives and the comfort.  Fuel pump went out just after warranty out.  Expensive repair on my vacation.  CD player also went out just after warranty.  Now 90,000 miles transmission went out.  $5000.00.  Still driving it, can't afford to buy a new one.  Still love it.  Need my head examined.  I agree we need a transmission recall on the 2003.

Like it but next buy we'll choose Lexus

Pros:

CVT, styling, roominess and wheels.

Cons:

Seats very comfortable. Dealership service although friendly are incompetent and were caught at least once (who knows how many times it occurred) not even changing oil when paying $400 for 15K mi maintenance.

Review:

We were in a rush 2 buy a 4W or AWD. The CVT sold us on the Murano and R still very happy with it. Within the first hour of driving it home, realized the seats were very uncomfortable. Although leather, they R much too firm.

Various "electrical" problems that R never repaired or acknowledged by dealership's service, including door locking on their own, power outlets and A/C blowing fuses.

Husband loves 18" wheels. It's very spacious, especially the back seat and works well 2 accomodate 2 medium sized dogs.
