Pros:

Looks, ride, luxury.

Cons:

Tranny, fuel lid, hard to find tires, but most of all the way NISSAN is dealing with this.

Review:

Purchased used for about 20K with t&l. It had about 75K miles. At about 82K miles check engine light comes on. I take it to the dealer and they replaced the tranny fluid and reset tcm at about $500. 100 miles later all the fluid dumps out on the freeway and car has to be towed. They replace the fluid again at no cost but found an O-Ring leak that was $198. I get the car back at it repeatedly clunks and won't go over 20 mph. I shut it off and restart and it works again. Back to the shop, now they want to put a new tranny in. No tranny should go out on a car this expensive at 82K miles, new or used. I have tried reaching the regional specialist at Nissan corp. for weeks. I call everyday, he has yet to call me back. Mechanics mistake, or factory defect, I am not sure, but no one at Nissan will step up to the plate. I have checked with other dealers and found other 03's need new trannys at about the same milage. Anyone else out there with tranny probs? I think a factory recall is in order. Otherwise I love the look and luxury of the car. Dealer says tranny fluid should be replaces at every 30K, at 500$. Expensive maintenance. I don't recall that in my manual. Not sure what to do now?

Pros:

Looks good....People ask about the car. I tell them don't do it.

Cons:

Nissan poor service...Will never buy another Nissan; or recommend Nissan

Review:

Problems 1) Door lock actuator "wearing down"-it was working before I took it in-$495 each for back, 440 for front right-Nissan says it's coincidental. (I took it in for a "free" oil change/tire rotation). 2)Gas lid actuator died 3) back windows rolled down by itself-while car was parked (covered) 4)battery died 2x/3 yrs 5)visor tension broke 6)brakes-loud squeak in reverse in reverse downhill-Nissan said it does this -All this wi/first 2-2 1/2 years.

Pros:

impressive styling, room and comfort; good handling and performance

Cons:

Fit and finish; and junk transmission. Most of all--appalling customer service at Nissan Canada!

Review:

Catastrophic tran. failure; interior components disintegrated; $7,000.00 repair. Because car was 33000km. out of warranty Nissan refused claim. Considering arbitration or lawsuit. Looking for similar experiences from Murano owners to bolster case. Gary, Guelph, Ontario

Near-Perfect Set of Wheels

Pros:

Great looks, handling, economy (24/19 mpg), head and legroom.

On highways it FLIES from 50 to 70. The S gear is sweet for merging.

Cons:

Visors and ceiling seem a little flimsy. Seatbelts are losing their snap. Buckles hard for children. Rear view at night. (By the way, the dash lights ARE adjustable - 20 levels - contrary to an '06 model review by a non-owner.

Review:

We bought one as soon as we could - January of 2003 - and we couldn't be happier. It's roomy, fast, smooth, practical, and has enough luxury and elegance to make us smile every time we use it. (Alas, my wife has driven it for about 45 of the 50k we've put on it, while I'm driving a 10-year old Buick wagon...) Seriously, for two tall people with two small kids, it's perfect.

Pros:

ride height

Cons:

fit and finish problems. broken trim, falling off trim. Nissan customer service is terrible.

Review:

In the next couple of weeks I will be selling my Murano. It has 44K. I have had a number of problems with it. Most recent has been out of warranty repairs I had to pay for. A broken radiator, leaking from the back. Nissan denied the claim. Other problems involve, alternator, battery, driver seat, gps system and general fit and finish. My last Nissan.
