Pros:
Good mileage. |
Cons:
Mechanical nightmare; if it's not one thing it's another.
A 4-year old car should not be in the shop every 2 months!! |
Review:
Performance and mechanical headaches galore. I'd rather
have a Subaru. |

Pros:
Value for money
Basically reliable drivetrain - Sentra won't burn a hole in your pocket
Parts cost reasonable compared to other imports.
Too boring (bar SER) for thieves. |
Cons:
Boring (bar SER) bland, economy ha ha me back aches car. |
Review:
I've had my 2003 Sentra GXE for 3 years and 4 months now. It's never
died or left me stranded anywhere. So basic reliability is good. There have
been a few minor problems, a transmission (auto) squeak on the 3rd upshift
which was rectified by the dealer. The alternator belt has been noisy from
go (chirping sound) and I'm hoping my dealer will agree to a new belt. There
is an annoying resonance type rattle the seems to originate from the
instrument cowl. All in all fairly minor things. Sentra is an economy car,
built in Mexico to help keep sticker price low while offering good feature
per feature value compared to the competition. Comfort is reasonable - for
about an hour until my back starts to ache. Gas mileage has remained good
right through. |
