Not much leg room in rear, weak AC
Review:
Bought this car with 9,000 miles on it and have about doubled that. In the last year the fuel pump and the CD player were replaced under warranty - our local Nissan dealership took care of both problems quickly.

Nice looking car on the outside, comfortable and efficient on the inside, handles well and has plenty of power. I like the 5 speed manual transmission and have no complaints about the ride.

My only complaints are that the rear seats don't offer much leg room and the AC seems a bit wimpy (haven't checked the refrigerant level yet, so we'll see).

All in all, the car is a pleasure to drive.

The 2004 Sentra I purchased is rolling piece of crap!!!! The car had trunk release failure from the start. The fuel pump was replaced and the oil dipstick broke. I am now back to problem that was "repaired" with the fuel pump. The car has 60,000 miles on the odometer. I will NEVER purchase another Nissan product again!

6-speed transmission.
Review:
A good all around car held back by a 6-speed shifter designed to be the complete opposite of smooth. Nissan needs to hire a Honda transmission engineer to get to work on that. The Rockford Fosgate system has an ugly, spartan head unit, and sounds terrible. Power is very nice and the suspension is firm. Maybe a little too firm. Nice looking car, satisfactory interior although a little tight on space due to a dated chassis. Nissan...please fix the shifter!!!

Good value, but lousy service ,dealer in Chicago area star Nissan and autobarn are using deceptive practices and are not train to service those cars, Nissan consumer services doesn't care and just take your complains and not even contact the dealer[ buy a Toyota]. promises but no help!

some of the problems are belts, radiator cap, trunk spare cover, windows, and the worst brakes in the industry and Nissan HAS DONE NOTHING ABOUT IT.

Never had any big issues with my car. Only issue was a defective transmission, that had to be replaced a couple weeks after getting the car. No real complaints here. This one's definitely a keeper.

Very fast response/service from sales team prior to signing the vehicle sales order.
Cons:
Very obscure service from local Nissan rep after new car failed within a month!
Review:
I'm writing this review in hope that "they" won't get to cheat more consumers.

After barely a month of using the Sentra, it started to develop all sorts of problems ie. from suspension to steering, oil leaks, transmission failure, etc. Just imagine being given the runaround treatment from a reputable local rep, and the problem is still not solved!

Conclusion: Be careful with Nissan vehicles. Avoid them if possible. Their build quality is getting almost as bad as Malaysia's local car "Proton".

I like the Sentra basically- nice appearance, good gas mileage. However, I've experienced a few problems. The cover inside the trunk is much thinner than past models and has cracked. There are also problems with the paint job (scratched easily and heaven help you if you get any bird-droppings on it). The engine also makes an annoying whirring noise when accelerating. The 2002 was much smoother and quieter, and had no issues with it in the 2 years I leased it.
