Pros:

Great performance, comfort and appearance.

Cons:

Fuel economy could be better.

Review:

Purchased the 3.5SE in July /05 with the 5 speed automatic and have been very pleased with it to date. No problems, not even a rattle to complain about. Excellent performance and handling but fuel economy could be better.

Expect problems with this car

Pros:

Great looking, comfortable

Cons:

Bad Nissan service, unfixable problems

Review:

I am very unhappy with my 3.5 SE. I get the high speed vibration, but Nissan absolves themselves of resolving any issues that occur above legal driving speeds.

The car sputters and rocks at idle, and Nissan has the gall to say this is normal when the A/C is on. I've been in Murano's and Quests, and they don't have that problem.

I keep searching for answers... but get none

Pros:

Great looking car--inside and out.

Cons:

Drivers seat is extremely uncomfortable and vibration that gets worse after 65 MPH.

Review:

I have had a vibration after rotating my tires. I heard of a bulletin regarding the tires, but my VIN# doesn't qualify. I also hate the driver's seat-it's very uncomfortable for short drivers. The edge of the seat cuts off my circulation at mid-calf and my back has been killing me-it's just not ergonomically safe. I'm afraid to go to the dealership after reading reviews. Will probably trade-in for a Toyota.

Powerful 2.5L Engine

Pros:

Power, Price, Handling, Interior

Cons:

Road noise and stereo system (I do not have the Bose system)

Review:

I like the 2005 Altima. I test drove the Camry and Accord and chose to buy the Altima. The 2.5L engine has surprising power. The car handles well and has plenty of room. The interior is nice, too. Gas mileage falls into the 25 to 30 mpg range. The price was about the same as the Camry and less than the Accord. Many nice after market parts to add style to the Altima, too. I would advise others to test drive the Altima if you are interested in buying a sedan.

Pros:

Great V6 power w/ 27.7 MPG (when you don't stomp it).
Roomy, stylish, fun to drive! Nice info center with DVD navigation setup.

Cons:

DVD Navigation street indexing difficult.
No MP3's on the otherwise fantastic stereo.

Review:

I have the 3.5SE in Super Black w/Leather and Navigation Package; loaded. I have 6500 miles on it. I drive mostly on the highway, about 28 miles each way for work and I average 27.7 MPG.
I really like everything about this car. The DVD navigation comes in handy BUT the street indexing could be improved.
The Bose stereo is really great but I wish it would play MP3's.
Awesome power and very smooth ride. The front wheels have slight vibration over 75 MPH but I think it is due to the mediocre stock tires.
Car is very roomy & good for a family too!
No real problems at all... Very happy.

Pros:

The car IS built with performance in mind and drives like a champ. I loved the DTA and compass features. Also the heated seats

Cons:

Shifting to second was never smooth in this Altima (manual), Bose reception VERY POOR

Review:

My very first car was a Nissan 200sx (85) and I have been a loyal customer and supporter ever since.... until now. I purchased a 2005 3.5SE (my 4th Altima) and everything was great until the check engine light came on. That was 4 weeks ago. The dealer has no idea what the problem is, and under Nissans' instruction will not release the car. Initially when the throttle chamber went bad and the front struts went bad I thought nothing of it because I loved this car so much but now after dealing with Nissan North America and not having my car for a month I'm done. So the dealer has told me the last effort on their part will be to replace the ECM if that doesn't work.. well then their done. Unfortunately I don't know where that leaves me and the idiots at Nissan NA sound like robots "its our goal to get your car repaired and returned to you ASAP" Yea right. BUYER BEWARE OF THE ALTIMA AND EVEN MORE OF NISSAN NORTH AMERICA BECAUSE THEY SURELY ARE NOT LOOKING OUT FOR THE COMSUMER.

Pros:

Great Style, Comfort and Power. Best Value for the buck, PERIOD

Cons:

None that I or my wife have found yet, love everything about it!!

Review:

Been driving my 2.5 S daily for going on four months now, and very happy with performance so far. I do a highway stretch, as well as a few miles through the country and the car does it all very smoothly, and with plenty of style and power. I am very impressed with the fit and finish espically compared to the competition. This is our 3rd Nissan since 1987, and have nothing but praise for their products, and NO I am not a Nissan Salesman for all you critics. Great Value !!

Pros:

GREAT GAS MILEAGE, GREAT FAMILY CAR, IT WILL TAKE MY DAUGHTERS MUSTANG GT IN 1/4 MI, SPORTY, LOOKS GREAT

Cons:

VIBRATES TOO MUCH AND NISSAN CAN'T FIND THE PROBLEM

Review:

AS I STATED IN A PREVIOUS REVIEW I HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE REAR SWAY BAR. NISSAN FINALLY DECIDED TO REPLACE IT, THE CAR STILL HAS A VIBRATION IN THE STEERING AND IN THE REAR. AT THIS POINT I AM SO DISSATISFIED WITH NISSAN NORTH AMERICA THAT I AM READY TO TELL THEM TO TAKE THIS CAR AND SHOVE IT. MY CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP OVER THE LAST THREE MONTHS MORE TIMES THAN I CAN COUNT AND THEY HAVE KEPT MY CAR FOR A WEEK AT A TIME ON SEVERAL OCCATIONS AT NISSAN NORTH AMERICA'S REQUEST WAITING ON THEM TO ARRIVE AT THE DEALERSHIP TO INSPECT THE CAR. THEY FINALLY INSPECTED THE CAR 2 WEEKS AGO AND NOW THE DEALERSHIP HAS THE CAR TRYING TO DO EVERYTHING NISSAN TELLS THEM THEY CAN DO TO FIX THE PROBLEM. IN MY EXPERIENCE IT IS NOT THE DEALERSHIP THAT HAS BEEN THE PROBLEM IT HAS BEEN NISSAN NORTH AMERICA, BECAUSE IF THEY DO NOT AUTHORIZE A WARRANTY ISSUE IT CAN NOT BE DONE. NISSAN NORTH AMERICA HAS BEEN VERY DIFFICULT TO DEAL WITH THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED MY CAR HAS GIVEN ME A LOANER CAR AND GONE ABOVE AND BEYOND ANY OTHER DEALERSHIP THAT I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT SHOULD BE COMMENDED FOR THEIR COMMITMENT TO SERVICE. NISSAN ON THE OTHER HAND SHOULD HAVE TO PAY ALL OF THE EXPENSES I HAVE INCURRED BECAUSE THE DEALERSHIP I PURCHASED MY CAR FROM IS 2 HOURS AWAY FROM WHERE I LIVE AND WORK AND I HAVE HAD TO MISS ALOT OF WORK. WITH ALL OF THE PROBLEMS I HAVE HAD WITH THIS CAR NISSAN SHOULD HAVE TO GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK.

It's falling apart!

Pros:

GREAT GAS MILEAGE, roomy, nice size trunk

Cons:

it is falling apart. The check engine light came on for a few weeks and then went off. The rubber strip at the top if the windshield is coming off, the weather stripping on the rear driver door is coming off, the plastic engine cover was coming off and a few bolts fell out. I have no clue where they went, the auto gearshift gets stuck and you can't move it from reverse or from drive to park, etc. The sunroof is broke and the transmission shifts rough from 1st to 2nd gear. ARRRRGGGGHHHH......I have only had the car approx 6 months and want to get rid of it already.

Review:

The car is sporty with lots of room. Comfortable to ride/drive however it is falling apart (literally)

Cons:

A "do not buy" in my book!

Review:

My first new car in 15 years (only adult driven); what a disappointment!
Bought the car new in April 2004. Have had the "infamous" transmission problem with 1st to 2nd, wheel bearing front drivers side replaced, Continental (GENERAL) tires that vibrate and shake, front windows that when lowered rattle inside the door, AC that will not reset unless you restart the car. New 2005 higher quality interior parts are not. Poor fuel economy (and I only run premium). I hear all the same complaints from other Altima owners while we're standing in the dealer service repair line, yet NissanUSA Customer Service is unresponsive.
