Pros:
style, luxury, BOSE..... |
Cons:
shimmy in wheel, too many button on the
console...worst of all is Nissan service. |
Review:
I enjoy my maxima, but the Nissan
service sucks! They were hard to deal with and very difficult under the
certified to deal with! (Riverside Nissan~Tulsa). The car is GREAT but the
shimmy in the wheel and all the buttons on the console, and the payments are
high! |

Pros:
Powerful engine, roomy interior, stylish |
Cons:
Unreliable parts, ECU/TCM need better programming, cabin
noise, rattles. A feel of rapidly deteriorating car. Crappy Goodyear
tire-somebody is going to get killed with all those cracks. Had them
raplaced at 18k. |
Review:
Got rid of Toyota because I wanted a powerfull V6, latest
side air bag technology, leather, CD changer, etc with some style. Been
dissapointed by the many recalls and the non ending TSB's. So many poor
quality parts is unbelievable. Serious stuff like EGR, O2 sensors,
electrical, engine noise, rapidly increase squeeks, bad tires, bad shocks,
engine mounts going bad, computer going on the fritz once in a while, etc,
etc. Dealer has replaced some but could not found anything wrong for many.
RSA Goodyear are junk. Cracks around the sidewalls. |

Pros:
Styling, performance and sound (with the NISMO cold air intake). |
Cons:
Never ending shimmy, brakes cause vehicle to shake upon braking (they
were only good periodically throughout the 26,500 I've had this car (since
NEW). The dealer has cut the rotors twice. Now I think they may need to be
replaced; ugh! The car makes a metal-type rattle and vibration on take off
and high speeds. I think it has something to do with the exhaust system, but
then again it doesn't do it when it's in park and I rev the engine. |
Review:
I had to go to 4 dealerships before I received some satisfaction with my
SL. I've had two recalls. One was partially fixed and now I have to go back
again for the seat harness to be replaced, as Mario D'Addario dropped the
ball on that one. I purchased my car at Executive Nissan (a major mistake);
only took the vehicle there twice for service... The entire dealership is
full of liars! After that I went to DeCormier then Harte (in Hartford) the
service manager is a twit (he got in my face and I offered for him to go
outside and settle it like men in which he declined). He jacked me around
about issues with my car, as well as my girlfriend's car too. Then I went to
Mario D'Addario. Finally I've have been having my car serviced at Crowley
Nissan. I've had other issues, such as, an excessive amount of alignments
and tire rotations. I was forced to purchase an new tire, as it was
defective but the braintrust at Harte thought they I should pay for it and
corporate concured too; can you say B.S.! Crowely's service department
treats me with respect and they don't care if I didn't buy my car there
because afterall business is business... If I'm satisfied I'll come back for
business; you know? Something the latter dealerships don't understand!
Unfortunately for Nissan, this is my last purchase. I thought a $32,000 car
would be of much better quality... Nissan customer service is mostly
unprofessional and the overall satisfaction from purchase to now has been a
huge disappointment. I should have purchased the Acura TL or Subaru WRX (as
they were on my hit list when I purchased this nice looking clunker). With
the new ethanol gas the car only gets 18.5 MPG (used to get roughly 21.5)
and yes I do have lead foot, but this is unacceptable for a V6). The premium
unleaded is the only gas this car can take. With the 87 and 89 octanes the
car has no power and the MPG is even less. In hindsignt I could have spent
an additional $1500 on a V8 Infinity with better everything and the MPG
would be the same with more horse |
