Pros:
Rides more like a sports car than a 4x4 truck. Cool orange gauges, killer Rockford Fosgate Stereo. Electric rear locker is by far the best addition. Hot Rod horsepower.
Cons:
ABS limited slip is pretty limited.
Review:
I special ordered the Off Road 4x4 model with the Rockford Fosgate stereo from my local dealer. I have a Jeep Cherokee also, but this Xterra is a step above. I love its handling; it's powerful, it's comfortable, it's quiet on the highway. I highly recommend this to any true off road SUV driver

Pros:
better power, tilt steering travel, cargo space,380watt radio,4wheel disc brakes
Cons:
needs protection over fender well hump in rear door opening, power seats as standard equipment on se models. windows that travel all the way down on rear doors.
Review:
Had a 2002 X that needed the power steering pump replaced. When I went to the dealer for warranty service I saw the 2005 X and fell in love with it. My 2002 wasn't even out of the shop and I bought the new 2005.(traded in the 2002).Nissan stands by their products, I will always have an X until the day comes when Nissan stops making them.

2005 Xterra ! Gotta Luv It !

Pros:
Most everything! Power, style, functionality.
Cons:
Ok gas mileage is down but most other SUV's aren't anything to brag about either. No wiring harness comes with the towing package and no one tells you to purchase one separately.
Review:
I had owned a great 2001 Xterra since it came out. The only major problem, as we all know, was that as far as getting up on the inter states, etc. the poor thing couldn't get out of it's own way! We have waited long and hard for this 2005 Xterra. We love it! After my many e mails) and I am sure many others did to) such small, but important things were done. They finally got the air conditioning vent on the passenger side to be able to shut it off all together if you want, and sorry HATE carpet in the old cargo area (someone said they wanted it). We hunt and fish and trust me, with carpet in the cargo area it stinks and muddy, etc.) I suggest if someone wants carpet to get some indoor outdoor carpet, cut it to shape and put it in. Meanwhile, for us being able to wipe it down without worrying about the carpet is fantastic. The whole body is different and wow, this was CAN get out of it's own way for sure! We got the Granite which is the closes we could find to the darker gold color that is no longer available. It is one gorgeous car and obviously extremely useful! Nissan did it right! My only complaint, and I am told these things will become available, just don't know when, is lack of accessories such as brush guards, tail light guards, etc. They do have the step rails (which I need for my disability but it does help with putting things on the roof, and, honestly helps keep mud off the
lower part of the carside. We'll have the step rails added on next week. But, the tow package is great (EXCEPT, though it gives you the 7 way plug you do NOT get the wiring harness with it). So we were ready to go with a new trailer and they had to search around for a harness. Nissan will hear about that from us BUT, this is honestly our only complaint. We love it! and we travel from Waco Texas down to Temple Texas because of the great dealership down there. Gotta Luv It!

Love this vehicle!!! I took many SUV's for test drives and none compare for POWER, versatility, ride, handling, looks and all for a price that is very reasonable. Love the color I picked Night Armor. Nissan got this one right.
