Pros:
attractive, fun to drive, reliable |
Cons:
the gas tank not filling up easily, bad
visibility in the back |
Review:
when I was looking to buy a car I test
drove the; Mazda RX8, Audi TT, and a Acura RSX S. The Mazda was too gerky,
the Audi was always broken, and the Acura was too slow, so I arrived with
the 350Z.This is my first
car and I'm really happy with it, but I do agree with some of the complaints
some people have. The gas tank not filling up easily made my first
experience at the gas station a long, amusing one. I still get made fun of
for not "knowing how to get gas."
Overall, the 350Z is a great car and
reliable. |

Pros:
Nice handling, power, and appearance |
Cons:
Poor manufacturer support. |
Review:
Beware of the 2006 350Z with the 6-speed manual transmission - the
300Hp, so called "Rev Up" motor. They have an oil consumption problem not
found in the 2005 283HP or the 2007 306Hp versions of the engine. Nissan is
not addressing this issue by saying "the car using 2+ qts in 3,000 miles is
normal and within spec." |

OIL CONSUMPTION |
Review:
If you own a 2006 6MT, check your oil NOW! I changed my oil and 3000
miles later, checked it again and it was 3 3/4 quarts low. Yes, it was full
3000 miles prior to that and there is now signs of visible leaks. Where's
the oil? Seems there is a design problem with the VVT on manual
transmissions and allowing too much oil to pass thru the valve guides. What
is Nissan going to do about this? No TSB or recalls to this date. |

Pros:
Looks, comfort, fit and finish. |
Cons:
Gas tank doesn't fill up (shuts off the auto-off on the fuel pumps at
the gas station), not a lot of storage, my wife drives it more than I do. |
Review:
I bought a 2006 Z when my Subaru STi blew its motor. The Z does not
stand up to the performance of the Subaru, but it's a more refined car in
every way for daily driving. The Subaru is a race car for the street, where
the Z is a street car that could be modded to race. It's better for daily
life, although I miss the trunk space and 4 doors every now and then. The
only complaint I have is that every now and then the fuel tank is hard to
fill. There's a problem with the venting that supposedly got fixed in 06,
but it's still a problem. The dealer conducted the TSB on it and didn't fix
it. Then they replaced the fuel tank and it's still a problem - but not to
the point I want to jump off a cliff...yet. Otherwise, great car! |

Pros:
Bi-xenon headlights (amazing) no fogs needed.
Lots of gauges and sensors for safety.
Rock solid in the corners. |
Cons:
Tight storage space requires planning.
With original tires, worthless in snow & ice.
Takes 3 months if ordering one to specs. |
Review:
I love the looks but driving it on winding roads is the most amazing
thing about it. With 15,000 miles on it the tires are wearing well(no
feathering) and the transmission and clutch seem perfect. No defects, but it
does seem to be going through about a quart of oil every 2000 miles. That's
too much for me, but not alarming. It may be correlated with hard driving.
No leaks nor blackening of exhaust pipes. Tight storage space but lots of
nooks, crannies and compartments. |
