Pros:
Good power, comfortable, nice ride.
Cons:
Replacing things like headlights and taillights.
Review:
This is my first Nissan Maxima.  It is a 2006 SE.  I purchased it in October 2006.  This car has been a great car, and I currently have almost 80k miles on it, but it is the little things that you need to think about.  While the car is still under warranty, there are no issues, but if it's not, you need to think about the little things, like getting a headlight or taillight replaced.  To replace the head light, they have to remove the front of the car to get to it, which is $125.00 labor plus $60.00 for the bulb.  Replaced it a few months ago.  Now one of my brake lights is out.  You can't get to it from the trunk, so I am guessing it is going to be an ordeal also.

Looks too much like a Altima.

I have owned this car for two weeks and really enjoy the quality and performance. Gas mileage has been 26-28 without watching my driving profile.

Pros:
GOOD LOOKING-IT SEEMS AS THOUGH OTHER MANUFACTURERS ARE TAKING STYLING CUES FROM MAXIMA
Cons:
FRONT CLOTH DOOR PANELS AND CENTER ARMREST
Review:
FRONT DOOR CLOTH PANELS HAVE UNREPAIRABLE "WRINKLES", ACCORDING TO NISSAN. ALSO THE ADJUSTABLE FRONT ARMREST RATTLES IN THE ELEVATED POSITION. ACCORDING TO NISSAN, "THIS WARRANTY COVERS ANY REPAIRS NEEDED TO CORRECT DEFECTS IN MATERIALS OR WORKMANSHIP OF ALL PARTS AND COMPONENTS OF EACH NEW NISSAN VEHICLES SUPPLIED BY NISSAN"-ANYONE OUT THERE WITH SAME ISSUES-jerry.guthrie@sbcglobal.net

Pros:
The engine baby! Styling, interior features and comfort, decent stereo.
Cons:
Resale value! Muffler sound (lack of) and soft suspension.
Review:
I bought a demo SE, traded a crappy 06 Ford Mustang GT because it was constantly in the shop and Ford started to refuse to fix all the problems. My past experience with Nissans was always positive, especially the 1990s models. This Maxima has so much going for it I could write a book, so i will only pick a few negatives; I paid too much for the car, resale value on Nissans plummet but i knew that and didn't care I was so mad at Ford, the armrest is setup all wrong, the torque steer is a bit heavy but manageable, the exhaust system is way too quiet and choked down. Thats all ive found quirky so far, the car looks, runs and handles great, though the suspension is a bit soft. This car is totally different than a Mustang but I am looking forward to just oil changes and not constantly going to the dealer for major problems! I will never buy another Big 3 car, besides, Nissans are mostly made in the USA now so it helps the US economy to buy them. Love this Maxima!

Pros:
Powertrain is excellent, instruments easy to read but seats are so-so as far as comfort on long drives. Nice paint job.
Cons:
No MP3 CD support or line-in for iPod type audio system. GPS database stinks, verify location with online services like MapQuest before using. Bluetooth phonebook painful to setup, don't switch phones or else! Exterior looks are not very sporty, dull. Nissan support is just about getting your call forwarded around the world to people who say "Yeah we know about that, but there's nothing we can do". First and last Nissan for me.
Review:
I've owned my SL for 3 months and 6,000 miles and honestly I do not like this car. It's the little things that drive you crazy like a GPS system that is hard to use and wrong about 30% of the time, in Los Angeles!. Spending 40+ minutes sitting in your car verbally programming the bluetooth phone book, buy a new new phone and find out you can't transfer the numbers. Windshield wiper stick that I keep hitting when I reach for the A/C controls. I could go on but I look forward to selling it next year or sooner.
