Pros:
LOTS of room, front, back, trunk. Handling and speed are amazing for a car this size. out performs all other sedans of similar value. Nice 18" wheels from factory. Not much
needs upgrading.
|
Cons:
Torque steer (expected). Should change wheels and tires for winter ice and snow. In-dash nav not available on SE-R. Stiff clutch is painful in stop-n-go traffic. Ugly 'front-high'
Altima stance.

Review:
I was looking at the '08 3.5 Altima base model (hard to find in a manual), when the salesman showed me a used '05 SE-R with the 6spd MT for $6,000 less. I was instantly sold. STIs
and EVOs are faster, but DO NOT have the comfort, luxury, over-all room, or affordable price that the SE-R has.

Pros:
Lots of room for a fast, luxurious car. All the good stuff comes standard. A TRUE 4 door sports car (I own a 92 Maxima with the actual 4dsc sticker and let me tell you...it
ain't). Your friends will envy you (even the domestic guys) and the girls will love it because it's the feminine-marketed Altima!
|
Cons:
I can see the winter being a bit evil to this car when stopped on hills, the clutch is pretty unforgiving for a sedan, and the 18"s will be expensive to replace. Not much
room to work on anything in the engine bay, should your bumper to bumper go and you have something break that you don't trust the stealership with.

Review:
When the credit union approved me for whatever I wanted, it was between the 350z and the SE-R. Needless to say, I went with the SE-R for the practicality and room. And
I've never seen an SE-R before in person until I saw mine.

I love my 2005 Nissan Altima SE. I am almost forced to have to trade it in or sell it and go to a much smaller more afordable vehicle if my insurance rates keep going up any higher.
I have called numerous insurance agents and all I am told is that there is a rate change in the vehicle rating group. If I am to pay for high insurance rates on a family size sedan I
should just get more bang for my buck and purchase a high performance sports car! When will the rates ever stop climbing? I am a middle age female with no tickets or accidents!

I did a lot of review on cars and came with a lot of choices in the end. 1. WRX STI 2. MITSUBISHI EVO 3. ALTIMA SE-R 4. G35 coupe
I like all the above
cars but in the end the best price quote i got was from the SE-R. The base model includes a lot of features that none of the other cars don't. This car is really good in handling.
people might say "oh.. but it doesnt have enough power like an STI or EVO". that might be true but u need a lil bit of luxury too. this car has luxury and power at the same
price and is cheaper than the rest. ofcourse i want an STI but SE-R is a must have.

Minor quality issues first month of ownership, fit and finish issues still ongoing, but overall car is very enjoyable. Not quite the car my 2002 Maxima SE was but still a nice car.
