Pros:

Big car, enough leg room, Nice body, Pretty fast

Cons:

Too expensive to maintain, too many electrical problems, Not a durable car overall.

Review:

I'd only advice you lease a brand new. I have had 2 models; Altima and Maxima. I bought my 2005 Maxima with 18k miles which I consider relatively new. Needless to say, I am very meticulous about maintenance: I bought my own air and oil filter and always used synthetic oil at every stop at the dealership. However, the repairs I have made have been ridiculous. At 70k miles, the dealership in Lynnfield (a.k.a thieves) they said my transmission was gone and recommended I buy a newer Maxima. More so, I have changed the alternator twice. At least twice a year I had to pay the dealership a visit with costs ranging from $3500 to $5000. It became too much and I couldn't keep up. The car eventually died on the road. I wish I had went a different route.

Pros:

Up to this point have been extremely satisfied with Nissan products, both Maximas.

Cons:

Reprehensible that so many 2005-2007 model users are experiencing the same problem Understand it may have been a potential recall matter for those model years.

Review:

After being an avid Nissan customer for over 15 years, I now wouldn't buy their produce at all. The transmission failed 5,000 miles out of warranty at a cost to me, retired senior citizen, of $3,300

Pros:

comfortable and decent gas mileage

Cons:

I have to pay $3500 for a new transmission or get $0 for my trade in.

Review:

2005 Nissan Maxima with broken engine mounts caused by faulty transmission. Transmission jerks and bucks when shifting gears and there is delay in acceleration. Multiple owners have this problem and there shoudl be a recall.

I've 05 Maxima se... and i'm having a problem with transmission.. My car gives me a shake when i put into drive from parking or reverse. I was about to hit another car because, it doesn't takes time to find a correct gear at that time and my was in neutral for some seconds. Most of the time it gives me a huge push and its hard to control in the busy traffic. Nissa made a death machine, seriously, It is a very dangerous car to drive with such kinda problems because you don't know when whats to expect.
