Pros:

Looks, versatility.

Cons:

Bad gas mileage, not durable

Review:

I love the look and versatility of the Xterra but it has been nothing but problems since I went over 65,000 miles. From issues with the timing chain guides, radiator and transmission replacement, catalytic converter failure, tpms needs replacement and now my dash looks like a Christmas tree with ABS/Slip/VDC light just coming on. I bought a Nissan because they had a reputation for quality and durability, apparently that was from a long time ago because it is not true today. I own a 2007 Xterra with 115,000 miles on it. My other car is a Toyota Corolla with 236,000 miles and my youngest daughter owns a 2005 Toyota 4Runner with 178,00 miles with no problems except struts and general maintenance. My oldest daughter owns a 2009 Nissan Altima and has already replaced the transmission twice. I and no one in my family will ever own a Nissan product again.

Pros:

Price, stability, value for the dollar

Cons:

Interior comfort, mileage could be better, dealer service and inability to resolve the small issues

Review:

This is my first foreign car ever and so far it has been well worth the investment. Xterra is a very utilitarian vehicle with few comforts but overall is a good purchase for the price. The interior could be better such as arm rests for the long rides, but my mileage has been better than advertised. I've now had it for 2 years and still love it.

Pros:

Very solid, strong body on frame assembly.

A very good engine and tranny combination.

Cons:

Low quality plastic interior trim, A very low quality stock radio and speakers (upgrade to Rockford Fosgate system), A history of timing chain and tensioner problem with the 4.0 engine.
below par gas mileage.

Review:

Very good Quality for a small SUV. Frame on body is great for trailer towing and handling. Nissan trucks and SUVs are known for long lasting value.

Top of the World Hwy

Pros:

Driving comfort.

Cons:

Tire pressure monitor. To many nocks cranys to clean after muddy-dusty road trip.

Review:

Travel the Top of the World Hwy, 160 miles dirt and gravel, 4 times a year. Does not handle well on wash board road condition, use extreme caution if on a corner. Snow collects every where on the body if parked outside and takes twice as long to clean off as a Pilot.

Nice SUV, but gas mileage sucks. They should have put a diesel in it!!
